KY Beef Facts

Kentucky is the largest beef producing state east of the Mississippi River.

Kentucky ranks 8th in National Beef Production.

Over 1 million cattle were raised in Kentucky in 2015.

Most cattle are raised on pasture after weaning. Most then transition to a high-nutrient grain diet in the months prior to slaughter to achieve the desired marbling and flavor profile.
